ALTA’s Nominating Committee is accepting nominations or self-nominations for the Board of Directors.
In our 2026 election, ALTA will fill several At-Large Board Member seats and one Officer seat, for the new position of Program Liaison. Specific job descriptions can be found here (opens in new tab).
Position Details
- Candidates for both At-Large Board and Board Officer seats will run for a term of three years (November 2026–November 2029).
- Board members can be reelected or reappointed once.
- The elected Board Member will take on the responsibilities of a committee chair or other special duties, as determined by the President after the election in light of the Board’s needs and the Board Member’s qualifications and interests.
- Nomination and electoral processes for the board are governed by ALTA’s Bylaws (opens in new tab).
- June 25: Virtual Information Session (opens in new tab) for interested Board candidates.
- July 17: Nominations close.
- August 5: Voting period opens.
- August 19: Voting period closes.
- September 15/17: Election results announced in ALTA newsletter.
- Newly elected officers joining the Board at the ALTA conference in Portland on October 21.
To nominate yourself, please write a brief email of 2-3 sentences to Nominating Committee Chair Chenxin Jiang and Executive Director Katrine Øgaard Jensen at the link below; all ALTA members are welcome to self-nominate. To nominate someone else, please send the name of your candidate and a few sentences as to their qualifications to the link below.
