Cold Beer, Cold Readings

ALTA48 will kick off with our fourth Cold Beer, Cold Readings event, which features volunteers getting up on stage to present cold readings of short scenes from plays translated by ALTA attendees. So if you’ve translated a play, or have drafted part of a play translation, bring copies of an excerpt (max. 10 minutes, a scene that works well on its own), and we’ll put it on its feet! We also need willing attendees to cold-read parts, as well as audience members to cheer everyone on!

Sky Bar is a 15-minute walk (or two stops on the free streetcar!) from the conference hotel. Free entry; drinks available for purchase.

Access info: Sky Bar is wheelchair accessible. Everything is on one level, including accessible restrooms. Exiting the streetcar, patrons will cross to the sidewalk, and the entrance to Sky Bar is directly off the sidewalk about 200 feet from the streetcar stop. All of the sidewalks have wheelchair access, and the ground is flat, other than the aprons for the sidewalks.
