Bilingual Readings

ALTA’s Bilingual Reading Series is your chance to share published or unpublished English translations with our supportive community!

In 2026, Bilingual Readings will be held in person at ALTA49 in Portland, OR from October 21-24, 2026. There are six 7-minute slots for each Bilingual Reading, which allows for brief transitions between readers. Please only sign up for ONE reading. You may also be on one panel (there is a two-session limit).

Reading slots are first-come, first-served, but we often accept readers off our waitlist. PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP TO READ IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND ALTA49.

All accepted readers must register for ALTA49.

NOTE: Translations are into English, and if the author is joining the translator, they should read from the same project. Authors must purchase their own ALTA49 registration. There are no virtual bilingual readings in 2026, and we do not have the capability to Zoom in participants. Readings will not be recorded.

DEADLINE: July 30, 2026, 11:59pm Pacific Time
