Fall 2026 Pitch Sessions

Available exclusively to members at no additional charge, ALTA’s Pitch Sessions with translation publishers are held twice annually. Fall 2026 sessions will take place from September 14-18.

In these 8-minute Zoom sessions, translators are invited to present a project to an editor from a press or journal (or to an agent) in ALTA’s network for possible publication. Participants sign up to meet with an editor/agent of their choice and may receive brief, verbal feedback on their pitch as time allows in their session.

Registration is open from August 20 – September 7. You must be an ALTA member to participate. Join today! Information about how to sign up for Pitch Sessions is emailed directly to current members on August 20 at 12:00pm Eastern Time. Session signups open at 1:00pm Eastern Time.

Members may sign up for TWO pitch sessions. Note that times are listed in EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST). Of your two sessions, only ONE may be with a book publisher or literary agent (that is, you may either take two pitch sessions with a journal editor, OR one with a journal editor + one with EITHER a press editor OR literary agent.)

NEW! On September 22 and 23, pitch sessions will be exclusively open to those members translating from South Asian languages. Please ONLY sign up for these slots if you translate from a South Asian language. The two-session limit per member still applies.

Participation in our pitch sessions does not constitute ALTA’s endorsement of any publisher or magazine. We encourage translators to research the business practices, response times, and submission guidelines of publishers and magazines they are actively interested in pitching to.
