New Website Spotlight: Translators Database
One of several new or updated resources on ALTA’s new website, the Translators Database has been upgraded to allow members to include more information about their work. Our hope is that it becomes a vital resource for members to find one another, and connect with publishers!
There are two views of the database. A public view, and a logged in member view.
The public view of the database will only feature profiles for those that have been updated since the launching of the new site. (You must also have an active membership to appear.)
Profiles now feature:
- Languages translated into in addition to languages translated from
- Direct links to up to three works online in addition to personal websites
- Headshots
- Bios
- Unique URLs, making each profile accessible via search engines and shareable
In order to update your profile, you must first login to the new Member Portal.
Once there:
- Make sure your membership is current. Only those with active members will appear in the public view.
- Follow the form to update your profile, and be sure to include a bio, as it is required to be featured in the public view.
- Then, head to the database to see how your new profile appears. It will update immediately.
- If you’d like to share your URL, click “Learn More” on your entry to open your full profile, then copy the URL from your browser.
- That’s it!
