Between Ourselves, Between Cultures
Between Ourselves, Between Cultures
From 2003 to 2019, the Banff International Literary Translation Centre hosted an annual residency for practicing literary translators from around the world.
Participants could work on individual projects and exchange insights: between ourselves, between cultures. Founding director Linda Gaboriau (Canada), outgoing director Pedro Serrano (Mexico), and past director Katherine Silver (USA), will discuss what made the program unique, including the focus on Indigenous languages, minority cultures, experimental genres, and BILTC’s trilingual advisory council with representatives from ALTA, LTAC, and Mexican associations.
