Young Russian Writers in Conversation: Part 3, Poetry
Young Russian Writers in Conversation: Part 3, Poetry
This interview is part of a series showcasing young Russian female writers and their translators, enabling the audience of virtual ALTA to appreciate both sides of a translation process that involves collaborative moments.
Josephine von Zitzewitz will present an interview with Russian poet Ksenia Zheludova. Zheludova (b. 1990) represents the young generation of Russian writers who publish predominantly on social media and curate their own audience. The example of Zheludova, a writer influenced by the classical tradition, shows that it is not just activist poetry that thrives in this environment. Von Zitzewitz and Zheludova will discuss creative and publication strategies and read short examples. The interview will be prerecorded in Russian and will be streamed with English-language subtitles.
