SAND, Berlin’s English-language literary journal, is open for submissions.

SAND publishes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, art, and translations from all over the world.

For its lucky 13th issue, they are particularly looking for great writing from perspectives that are generally under-served in literature. Please share our call in your networks for female, p.o.c., queer, or otherwise magnificent authors.

There is also a special call for literary nonfiction: personal essays, travel essays, creative reportage, etc. They’re not looking for hard criticism or anything too academic; SAND would like nonfiction that demonstrates the author’s gift for observation and strong authorial voice.
As one of Berlin’s go-to sources for English-language writing and translations, everyone is encouraged to submit to be considered for publication in Berlin, and to share their work with SAND’s borderless community.

The deadline to submit for this issue is January 15th, 2016.
