The 2019 ALTA conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Rochester and the Joseph A. Floreano Riverside Convention Center in downtown Rochester, New York. The Hyatt Regency is located across the street from the convention center. ALTA has secured a block of rooms in the Hyatt Regency for conference attendees. For your convenience, we encourage you to book your hotel reservations in advance. Plus, when you book at the conference hotel, a portion of the proceeds go to ALTA, so show your support by booking your room in our block!

The Hyatt Regency Rochester is connected to the Convention Center via an enclosed skyway, a 3-minute walk. The skywalk is elevator-accessible. Located on the Genesee River, the Joseph A. Floreano Riverside Convention Center has 100,000 square feet of space with high-speed broadband wireless internet and enclosed walkways to hotels, dining, and a parking garage. Conference sessions and other events will be held there.

Check-in/out

Check-in time at Hyatt Regency Rochester is 3:00pm. The check-out time is 11:00am, after which time guests will incur an additional night’s charge.

Complimentary wireless internet is available in overnight guestrooms.

Parking

Hyatt parking for overnight guests of the hotel is discounted to $10 (1,300-spot garage). For non-overnight guests at the Hyatt, daily parking rates are between $2 and $10, depending on the number of hours. The garage is the South Avenue Garage, with entrances on both Broad Street, South Avenue and Stone Street. Find parking rates and other info here.

Valet parking is available via the Motor Court Entrance on East Main Street. Valet Charge: $17.00 per car, per night with in/out privileges.

Transportation to the Hyatt Regency

Transportation to and from the Rochester International Airport, trains, and bus stations is complimentary. Transportation services are available, free of charge, upon request between Rochester International Airport and Hyatt Regency Rochester. When you arrive at Rochester International Airport, call the Hyatt Regency at the front desk, (585) 546-1234. A hotel van driver will be sent to pick you up. For return service to the airport, please sign up at the front desk. There is a shuttle that departs at the top of each hour for return trips.

Reservations

ALTA has reserved a block of overflow rooms for November 6-11 in the Hilton Garden Inn Rochester Downtown, right next door to the Hyatt Regency Rochester. The ALTA conference block of hotel rooms in the Hilton Garden Inn will be released to the general public on the cut-off date of October 16, 2019. 

Online: Make reservations online (recommended) here. The group code is ALTA19. Reservations for rooms accessible to guests with disabilities may be made in the same manner. Reservations must be made on or before the book-by date of October 16, 2019. When you book at the conference hotel, a portion of the proceeds go to ALTA!

Rates

The hotel room rate is $164.00 regardless of the type of room (single king or two queens). Please note that there is a very limited number of double queen rooms available in the hotel. This rate is exclusive of taxes, which are 14%.

Air Travel

Airport code: ROC. Most ALTA attendees will fly into the Greater Rochester International Airport.

Location: 5 miles northeast of the Joseph A. Floreano Riverside Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency.

There are many options for getting to your hotel from the airport. Most area hotels (including the Hyatt Regency) have complimentary airport shuttles available. Visit the airport’s transportation page to learn more.

There are Uber/Lyft and taxi stands at the airport. There is also an information booth on the baggage claim level of the airport which is staffed from 10am-6pm 7 days a week, in case you have any questions.

Driving from the Airport

Driving from the Greater Rochester International Airport to the Hyatt Regency:

Take 390 north to 490 east. Follow signs to Downtown, exit inner loop east (exit 13) and take St. Paul Street and turn right (which will become South Ave). Go through 3 traffic lights, then turn left on E Main Street to arrive at the hotel.

Driving from the Greater Rochester International Airport to the Convention Center:

Take 390 north to 490 east. Follow signs to Downtown, exit inner loop east (exit 13) and take St. Paul Street and turn right (which will become South Ave). Go through 4 traffic lights, after crossing Main Street turn left into the South Ave entrance to the garage. The Convention Center is connected to the garage.

Driving from other locations to the Convention Center (please note that the Hyatt Regency is across the street)

From East:

Thruway to Exit 45, 490 west to Rochester. Follow signs to DOWNTOWN. Exit Clinton Avenue. Merge to Clinton, go 3 traffic lights to Broad Street. Turn left onto Broad and after the first light, make a right into the Broad Street Entrance of the South Avenue Parking Garage. The skywalk to the Convention Center is located on level 3 of the Garage. The Convention Center is connected to the Garage.

Eastern Suburbs:

490 West to Clinton Avenue. Merge to Clinton, go 3 traffic lights to Broad Street. Turn left onto Broad and after the first light make a right into the Broad Street Entrance of the South Avenue Garage. The skywalk to the Convention Center is located on level 3 of the Garage. The Convention Center is connected to the Garage.

From West:

Thruway to Exit 47 (490 east). 490 east to DOWNTOWN. Exit inner loop east (exit 13) and take St. Paul Street and turn right (which will become South Ave). 590 south to 490 west, then follow Eastern Suburbs directions.

From Southern Tier:

The Joseph A. Floreano Convention Center is half a mile from a Trailways bus station, located at 186 Cumberland St, Rochester, NY 14609. Trailways and Mega Bus both have stops in Rochester.
