October 26, 2024—The American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) is pleased to announce the winner of the 2024 Italian Prose in Translation Award. Starting in 2015, the Italian Prose in Translation Award (IPTA) recognizes the importance of contemporary Italian prose (fiction and literary non-fiction) and promotes the translation of Italian works into English. This year’s judges are Johanna Bishop, Isabella Corletto, and Diana Thow.

September 12, 2024—The American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) is delighted to announce the 2024 shortlists for the Italian Prose in Translation Award (IPTA), Lucien Stryk Asian Translation Prize, the Spain-USA Foundation Translation Award (SUFTA), and ALTA First Translation Prize!

The winners of these awards will be announced at ALTA’s annual awards ceremony, which will take place on October 26, 2024 in Milwaukee, WI, as part of ALTA’s annual conference, ALTA47: Voices in Translation.

We are honored to have these judges serving in 2024 on the panels of the National Translation Awards (NTA) in Prose and Poetry, the Lucien Stryk Asian Translation Prize, the Italian Prose in Translation Award (IPTA), the Spain-USA Foundation Translation Award (SUFTA), the ALTA First Translation Prize, and the ALTA Travel Fellowships.
