October 26, 2024— The American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) announced the winner of the 2024 National Translation Award (NTA) in Poetry on October 26th at an Awards Ceremony as part of ALTA’s annual conference, ALTA47: Voices in Translation, in Milwaukee, WI. The conference was held October 25th-28th in Milwaukee, WI. 2024 marks the 26th year for the NTA, and the 10th year to award separate prizes in poetry and prose. 

October 26, 2024—The American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) is pleased to announce the winner of the 2024 Spain-USA Foundation Translation Award (SUFTA). This prize, which was inaugurated in 2022, is offered by the American Literary Translators Association in conjunction with the Spain-USA Foundation. The award recognizes translations into English of literary prose works written originally by authors of Spanish (Spain) nationality. The 2024 judges are Jonathan Beutler, Regina Galasso, and Kathleen McNerney.

Starting in 2015, the Italian Prose in Translation Award (IPTA) recognizes the importance of contemporary Italian prose (fiction and literary non-fiction) and promotes the translation of Italian works into English. This year’s judges are Johanna Bishop, Isabella Corletto, and Diana Thow.
